ER24 Illustration: A simple equation

Client: ER24

This was part of one of the first jobs we did for ER24 in early 2005. They were looking to gain a stronghold by netting the contract to provide paramedic and ambulance services for all rugby matches at Ellis Park, home stadium of the Golden Lions Rugby Union better known simply as Lions. The brief called for a range of concept illustrations that they could use in their Power Point presentation to add a little punch.

The deadline was insanely tight, we had less than 24 hours to put it all together. Typically there would be a first draft where a few varied concepts are prepared and presented in a fairly rough state and the client's choice of those would be developed to completion. That wasn't the case here, (probably owing, in part, to the fact that ER24 was our only client at the time) and by the next morning we had prepared 3 completed sets of concepts, a total of around 14 images, so that they could pick the concept that worked best for them and just run with it. Of course this would mean that two thirds of the effort was a waste of time, but the client loved the images so much that they used every single last one of them!
